ENDORSEMENTS: Former Congressman and RNC Co-Chair Tom Evans & Former Reagan Communications Director Frank Ursomarso to Lead

Kasich for America Delaware Leadership Team

Today Ohio Governor John Kasich announced the Kasich for America Delaware Leadership Team, with former US Congressman, Republican National Committee Co-Chair and Reagan Advisor Tom Evans and Reagan White House Communications Director Frank Ursomarso serving as honorary chairs. Local businessman Michael Fleming will serve as executive chair.

Said Evans, “John Kasich has all the qualities and vision we need in the White House and unmatched experience in actually getting great things done for the American people. I worked closely with President Reagan and John has the same capacity to unite our party and compete in every state in November.”

Evans served as RNC Co-Chair from 1971 to 1973 and represented Delaware in Congress from 1977 to 1983. A close advisor to President Reagan, Evans was chairman of the Reagan campaign’s Congressional Steering Committee.

Said Ursomarso, “I am proud to endorse Gov. John Kasich for President and help spread his positive and optimistic message across Delaware. Like President Reagan, Gov. Kasich is a leader that we can trust to renew the American spirit and bring real solutions to Washington that will strengthen and grow our economy.”

Frank Ursomarso, a resident of Wilmington, was appointed to serve as Director of the White House Office of Communications by President Reagan in 1981.

Said Fleming, “We have a strong team in Delaware that is energized and proud to stand behind Gov. John Kasich for President. He is a special, thoughtful and uniquely qualified candidate. His experience, judgment and pragmatic leadership are exactly what America needs in the White House.”

Michael Fleming, a former senior aide to U.S. Senator Bill Roth, is a business executive and community leader in Wilmington.

Said Kasich, “I am grateful to have the support of so many conservative leaders in Delaware. Tom, Frank, Michael and the entire Delaware team will be a vital asset to our campaign as our momentum grows in the First State and throughout the east.”

I am familiar with the people on this list, and they are good people, but this could also be a list from a fancy Wilmington cocktail party. I’m not surprised that they would support a reasonable candidate like Kasich,

Yes, Kasich is a reasonable and experienced candidate, but will reason and experience be enough to stymie the Hillary/Democrat multi media conglomerate?

Reagan had what I refer to as “media busting” charisma and personality. By that, I mean he had what it took to counteract the attacks of his opponent, and a biased media. I don’t see this in Kasich, and BTW, experience in government doesn’t seem to be a positive credential this go around.

    ***** TRUMP 2016 *****

  2. Rick says:

Maybe Delaware’s Country Club Republicans can travel to Ohio, and help Kasich carry his own home state. Then they can go to Miami, and help Rubio carry Florida.

If Kasich loses OH, he’s gone, and if Rubio loses FL, he’s gone. Trump leads in both states.

Whatever happens, I will vote for the GOP candidate, any of whom would be infinitely better than the serial liar wife of a sexual predator.

  3. mouse says:

They could take your last social security dollar to give millionaires another tax cut for outsourcing your kid’s future and you people would vote for them to satisify your racial resentments.

  4. Anonymous says:

Mouse go over an pander your ideas over on DL.

  5. Rick says:

They could take your last social security dollar…

They did that decades ago…’they” being the Democrats. There’s nothing in the “Trust Fund” (LOL) but IOU’s.

    ….outsourcing your kid’s future…

Well, the $19-trillion debt has already done that.

By-the-way, why do we need more money for “infrastructure” when Obama got $500-billion for that purpose with his “stimulus” package? Remember, the “10-million high paying jobs?”

    Socialist-Democrats are thieves.

  6. waterpirate says:

I had forgotten about ” shovel ready ” another campaign promise that withered on the vine.

  7. Dave says:

You know Rick, you Republicans have been clamoring for a “real conservative” like forever and this was your golden opportunity. So what do you guys do? Basically with Trump you guys are nominating a Democrat or at a best a Republican Liberal. You silly people. I guess you didn’t really mean it about want a “real conservative.” I mean, geez Clinton is more conservative than Trump. Speaking of which, what the hell is “serial liar”? Is the opposite of a serial liar a parallel liar? Aren’t you bit too educated to be typing that kind of trash? Or are you just playing follow the leader? Clinton lies, but no more than you have in your life, unless you want to try and BS me that you don’t lie that is.

  8. Frank Knotts says:

First off, Anonymous, thanks for the help, but you don’t get to decide who gets to pander their ideas here, Mouse may be a little too left for my liking in their thought process, but they are welcome to add to the conversation. As are you.
FBH, you may be right about the media busting aspect, but what that tells me is that the people are to blame. The media is about ratings, if the media is feeding the ratings beast, it is because the people are steering the boat.
If the people wanted information from the debates, that is what the media would deliver. But unfortunately what the people want this cycle is a loud mouth, rich bully. Trump talks like the little rich third grader who knows, at the last minute the chauffeur will step in right before he gets the crap pounded out of him. And because the people and the media are feeding the beast, other candidates are following his lead. Rubio and Cruz have taken the bait. Kasich and Carson have tried to remain above the playground style of politics.
To have candidates standing on a debate stage having the, “you’re a liar, no you’re a liar, no you’re a bigger liar, no your brother is a liar, well your mother is a liar” conversation is embarrassing.
Unfortunately that is what it seems that the uninformed and or the angry people want from a republican candidate. The GOP has in ten years been reduced to nothing more than a compilation angry sub groups. The TEA people, libertarians, white separatist, anti-government for the sake of being anti-government, and anti-everything.
Rick predicts that Trump will win both the primary and the general election, he may be right, time will tell. But a simple victory in the election does not naturally add up to a “WIN” for the American people. In my opinion, a Trump presidency will be, while entertaining, the end of the GOP. And considering that most of the people who support his thug tactics are anything and everything but Republicans, that may be the end game, including their big mouth idle.

  9. Fish Bites says:

“most of the people who support his thug tactics are anything and everything but Republicans”

Frank, the GOP has nurtured this element for a very long time. This is, in fact, what the Republican Party has become after years of pandering to them.

  10. Rick says:

I mean, geez Clinton is more conservative than Trump.

    That’s funny.

I expect only a few things from Trump: economic growth, a conservative Supreme Court justice (Cruz), a coherent Middle East/ ISIS policy, border security and perhaps tax reform. That’s it. And Hillary can’t deliver on any of those issues.

Unfortunately that is what it seems that the uninformed and or the angry people want from a republican candidate. The GOP has in ten years been reduced to nothing more than a compilation angry sub groups.

Huh? Who is “uninformed?” You. In case you didn’t know it, the “compilation of angry sub groups” (the GOP) hold thirty-three governorships, a majority in the US House and Senate and more state legislative seats than any time since the 1920’s. So what are you bitching about?

    From today’s Breitbart:

Koch Bros. and Marco Rubio leaked intel on how exactly they’re going to try and steal the election from Donald Trump, GOP strategist Roger Stone revealed.
The Koch Bros. met with GOP millionaires and billionaires Thursday night to pool together over $75 million to stop Trump and are going to use Mitt Romney as ‘Plan B’ if Rubio fails to gain traction on Super Tuesday, according to moles who were inside the meeting…

Mitt Romney? A proven loser? Are you kidding me?

If the GOP “establishment” tries some type of underhanded tactic to scuttle the will of Republican primary voters, Trump will most assuredly run a third-party campaign, and thus, hand the election to Hillary. And I wouldn’t blame him, and I would vote for him.

Apparently, the “establishment” just doesn’t learn anything. Or, could it be that they’d rather be subservient to Hillary rather than to have to face fiscal and foreign policy realities? Probably the latter.

    They are playing with fire.

  11. Honi Soit says:

Rick on Feb 26: “Whatever happens, I will vote for the GOP candidate, any of whom would be infinitely better than the serial liar wife of a sexual predator.”

Rick on Feb 28: “If the GOP “establishment” tries some type of underhanded tactic to scuttle the will of Republican primary voters, Trump will most assuredly run a third-party campaign, and thus, hand the election to Hillary. And I wouldn’t blame him, and I would vote for him.”

  12. JS says:

    Honi, Rick’s position is “evolving”.

  13. delacrat says:

If the GOP “establishment” tries some type of underhanded tactic to scuttle the will of Republican primary voters,… – Rick

Not outside the realm of possibility, remember Florida 2000 and Ohio 2004.

If Trump wants to ensure his “election”, he’d better make nice with Diebold.

“I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this—who will count the votes, and how.” – Joseph Stalin, 1923

  14. Rick says:

    Honi, Rick’s position is “evolving.”

Pretty funny, JS. I guess I should have said “whenever happens except underhanded establishment tactics….”

  15. mouse says:

Well thanks Frank. I enjoy the exchange of ideas. None of the other “right” sites will let me post. Interesting how people want to live in a echo chamber where their misconceptions are safe from challenge. I do post in DL frequently but they are mostly about upstate issues/perspective and I’m here at the beach looking for a wealthy widow in Henlopen Acres who wants a boy.
