Republicans For Fuller?

aplle scrapple 2    So today on The Dan Gaffney Show, on Delaware 105.9, Dan was asking people to call in and cast a vote for any of the races in the state, and particularly Sussex County.     Well, Dan had actually moved on to another topic about an accident in Georgetown, when  35th District Representative Dave Wilson called in, to speak about Del DOT, and the intersection where the accident occurred. After which, Rep. Wilson asked if he could talk about the Register of Wills race, Dan being the experienced professional that he is rolled with it. What followed was earth shattering in the small world of Sussex politics.

Dave Wilson launched into his view of why the Democrat candidate, Greg Fuller, was the better choice for the office, over the Republican candidate, and incumbent, Cindy Green. Oh! Did you know that Dave Wilson is a Republican? And a former Register of Wills himself.

Rep. Wilson stated that Mrs. Green, while being a very nice person, does not possess the managerial skills to run the office she now holds. Rep. Wilson stated that Mrs. Green is campaigning on the false fact,  that under her administration, the office has gone electronic, in other words the information contained in the office is available online, and also archived online.

Rep. Wilson pointed out that this process was actually first proposed during his time as Register of Wills, however the Sussex County Council put it on hold until such time as the entire county government could implement the process. Mrs. Green would have the voters believe that it was her hard work that made this happen, according to Rep. Wilson this is not the case.

Rep. Wilson has also been critical of Mrs. Greens handing of personnel issues, forcing out long time employees of the office, employees that had worked in the office through several administration changes, a charge that was also pointed out at a candidate forum last night by Mr. Fuller. One has to think there may be fire where there is so much smoke, especially when the accusations are coming both from the Democrat opponent, and from a fellow Republican.

Mrs. Green also called into the Gaffney show to defend herself and made some vague allusions  about “follow the money”, without elaborating, which came off as a failed attempt to deflect from Rep. Wilson’s frank and clear statements about her fitness for elected office. She also got herself cornered into a debate with Mr. Fuller, we will have to see if she actually shows up for it.

Some may criticize Rep. Wilson’s actions, however I personally spoke to Rep. Wilson late today, and his view is that he is elected to represent the people of the 35th District, and if he feels that someone is misleading the people, then he feels obligated to speak up, no matter if they are Democrat or Republican. If only we had a few more people in office with the integrity and testicular fortitude of Dave Wilson, then we would all be better served by our government.

    Thank you Dan.

  2. Sarah Hill says:

If it was not for her Deputy or Office Supervisor she would not know what was going on in the office. She can not answer a question without some one’s help. She take’s credit for things she has not even done.

  3. Frank Knotts says:

This was a message sent to Dan Gaffney from Cape Henlopen School Board member Sandi Minard. One has to wonder what her interest is in the Green race, and why she would make such a public statement.
” Dan, I have a lot of respect for you and the job that you do. I understand the job requires “stirring the pot” but the way you bullied Cindy Green yesterday was not necessary. Mrs. Green was offering to come in and talk about the issue at hand which was Dave Wilson’s endorsement of Greg Fuller. Instead of allowing her the opportunity to come in and defend herself from this personal attack with info on what the office was like and what was going on in the office when she took over, you bullied her into a debate with Greg Fuller.
I have no doubt that Cindy Green can handle a debate with Greg Fuller, but she should have been allowed the opportunity to come in to defend herself against Dave Wilson and his lies. You purposely turned it away from that focus. It is clear that you support Greg Fuller and you have every right to do so, but to bullied Mrs. Green is the wrong way to show such support. The Register of Wills office doesn’t require someone with skills to stand up to your bullyin.”

  4. Gerald says:

So you (Frank)and Delaware Wrong support Republican Dave Wilson because he will vote for your recruited sheriff candidate Robert Lee, can publically embarrass a fellow Republican on a public talk radio program which could cause her to lose her election by endorsing her Democratic opponent and thats OK while you condemn others for supporting a Republican candidate? You people have lost your flipping minds!

  5. Frank Knotts says:

Gerald, please try to follow along here. The committee people, of which neither I nor Dave Wilson are one, have committed, notice the root word here, commit, to the GOP, this means that they are obligated to support the party’s endorsed candidates.
Dave Wilson was elected by, now you should like this, “WE THE PEOPLE”, to represent and protect our best interest, obviously he feels that Mrs. Green being in office is not in the best interest of the people, and instead of remaining silent has spoken out.
As for who embarrassed who, well I would say that Mrs. Green did quite well all on her own. Dave Wilson spoke in specifics while Mrs. Green made only vague accusations, and repeatedly asked to talk to Dan off the air.
As for me? I am free to do as I see fit, thanks to Duke Brooks, John Riley and all who voted to remove me from the committee.

  6. Gerald says:

    Your an idiot!

  7. Frank Knotts says:

Thank you for that intelligent response.

  8. Gerald says:

That is all that is required. Deserving.

  9. Frank Knotts says:

Okay, I wasn’t going to do this, but what the hell.
The statement you made was, “Your an idiot!”.
The word “your” is a possessive pronoun, usually used to show possession of something, like, “your car”.
I think what you were trying to say was, “you’re an idiot”. In this case “you’re” is a contraction of you and are, so you could have also used, “you are an idiot” and been correct in your grammar. (Notice my correct use of the word your.)
Your insults lose some of their effectiveness when calling me an idiot, if you fail to use the proper spellings.
I look forward to your next comment when you again demonstrate that you’re incapable of stringing a sentence together without an insult.

  10. Gerald says:

Is that all you got, is a spelling lesson from a blog site truck driver?

  11. Frank Knotts says:

Is calling me an idiot all you got from a blog site troll? And by the way, are you saying that truck drivers are stupid?

  12. Gerald says:

This one certainly is, because it shows! You give truck drivers a bad name.

  13. jack says:

Gerald, No one embarrassed Mrs. Green on the radio. I love when someone points out a truth. The first thing the Green supporters do is cry fowl. The fact is, The only embarrassment here is you for calling names.

Got something to say? Go for it!
