The FreeRepublic Sunday Talk Show Thread

Fox News Sunday-Christie Keeps On Going

It was speculated, on the FreeRepublic Sunday Talk show thread, that Chris Christie, New Jersey Governor, blocker of lanes on the George Washington Bridge, nasty guy, kissy-face with Obama personality, was really running for the 2020 ticket.

This way Christie will look like a member of the John Birch Society after America suffered through four years of Hillary Clinton.

There might be some truth to this theory because Christie….who’s paying attention to him? Does this guy really have an appeal to the Republican base?

He did an okay job of his interview but more than anything, I considered it a waste of my time to listen to the man.

Britt Hume, always the RINO lover, rants about Donald Trump and so okay, The Donald has some issues.

I’m still going nuts over the guy’s hair!

Meet the Press-Ted Cruz is strong.

7.5.15tedcruzTed Cruz stated firmly that he would not indulge the errant media and engage in attacking another Republican contender. “I will not throw rocks at another Republican candidate like the media seems to insist that we do,” Cruz said, going on to remark that illegal immigration is a huge uncontrolled problem and it was good that Trump brought the issue up for discussion.

As an aside, might I remind yon reader that both Rubio and Bush have come out condemning Trump? How many Democrats have been inquisistioned about that Star Trek guy’s remarks, calling Justice Thomas a “clown face”?

I think Cruz is the guy to watch, yon gentle readers….and so we shall.

Political Cartoon of the Week Of the Day

Face the Nation-Santorum Asked Stupidest ? Of the Day

So Rick Santorum is the “family values” guy seeking a Republican nomination for President. So he is asked about this same sex marriage thing and Santorum handled it pretty way.

He was asked what had to be the stupidest question of the day.

I have a hard time grasping whatever the host was trying to ask Santorum, but it was to the effect that regular heterosexual marriages have lots of problems, drinking, abuse….that sort of thing. The host then asked Santorum which was the bigger problem, the many broken heterosexual marriages or the new same-sex marriage law?

Santorum had given a great summary of what it’s really all about, specifically….CHILDREN, that children need a mother AND father. But that question about heterosexual marriage failings being on par with same sex marriage stumped him.

Somehow he mumbled his way out but hey, it was really a dumb and irrelevant question.

This Week With G. Stephanopoulos-Rick Perry fails to impress

Rick Perry too took a couple of swings at Donald Trump and he only looked stupid.

I like Rick Perry and acknowledge that he’s been a great Conservative Governor of Texas. But a national leader? I don’t see it.

CNN State of the Union-Heh…Bernie Sanders Scares and Huckabee Defends Josh Duggar.

OMG Bernie Sanders is scarier than all get-out, ain’t he? 7.5.15berniesanders

He talks about this silly “income inequality” as if there really is such a thing. We all have income inequality, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

And GUN CONTROL! Sanders really hates guns, do he not, bragging about his D- grade with the NRA and his driving desire to disarm all of us Rednecks and hoodlums across the fruited plains.

Mike Huckabee talks about same sex marriage and….say what? Josh Duggar?

Huckabee had taken up the defense of Josh Duggar, star of TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting”, a fellow who was once turned into police for molesting his sisters while they slept.

Huckabee might never live that down.

Not that his intentions weren’t pure or that Josh didn’t deserve defense. The guy did repent and is not likely to do what he did at the tender age of 14 again.

But I’m not convinced that defending such a thing was very smart on Huckabee’s part.

Overview and Needed Snark

There was quite a bit of discussion of the Donald Trump matter and I quite enjoyed. Trump remarked recently that many of the Mexicans trekking illegally to America are not the purest of heart and the media has gone ballistic.

7.5.15donaldtrumpSee, when a person from, Poland, say, applies to migrate to America, they have to meet requirements, such as having a job upon landing on our shores, having some sort of support….that sort of thing. The Mexican illegals climb hills and dive valleys to get here, led by corrupt people who rape and pillage along the way.

We all know it and as Donald Trump also qualified, many of them are good people. Which is true. We live in chicken industry center here on Delmarva and we have plenty of good Hispanics living peaceably among us.

Do not forget many of them are illegal and Trump was talking of illegals only when he made his comments.

Frankly I am enjoying Trump’s ruffling of the feathers of those Republicans not willing to address any of the pressing issues of our day.

How about a Cruz/Trump ticket?

I do not respond to comments on my posts. I certainly have no problem with such commentary and, indeed, encourage it. But I’ve written my piece and I don’t want to argue it further.

I wonder if the Republican nominee will get any electoral votes outside the bitter clinger slave states>

  2. fightingbluehen says:

I think the Republican nominee ( Dr. Benjamin Solomon Carson ) will accommodate you mouse.
A brilliant self made African American hero against a “white privileged” old corrupt lying politician fool…..Yeah, I think so.

  3. fightingbluehen says:

Anybody else notice how screwed up things are getting? A vicious thug beats a man to the ground on a DC metro on July 4, stabs him forty times until he’s dead, and then kicks him in the head for good measure, while passengers do nothing, and the press calls it a robbery gone wrong (not a hate crime).

Murder rate in major cities has climbed through the roof this year.

We have an undocumented worker (undocumented Democrat) deported five times, shooting a woman with a gun that was stolen from a federal agent?

“Dreamers” (nightmares) are coming across the boarder in droves with the help of the federal government. (Isn’t that called human trafficking?)

The Iranians are just months away from having nuclear weapons capability.

    ISIS is running rampant.

Multiple “computer glitches” (hacks) happening the same day, including the New York Stock Exchange while the Chinese stock bubble is bursting.

Military is running covert urban exercises.

Russia is doing whatever it wants to do, whenever it wants to do it.

    Feel free to add on.

  4. mouse says:

I’ll give him another look. But what I have seen so far is just nasty attacks on Obama and general pious cliché platitudes

  5. delacrat says:

    FrightenedBlueHen,

    You watch too much TV.

  6. mouse says:

And we have corporate American bankrupting the world with fraud, war profits and taking middle class jobs away for child labor in China and no one cares

  7. fightingbluehen says:

    “You watch too much TV.”
Are you saying that the less we know, the better off we are? Interesting concept, BTW I don’t watch TV ,unless you include some sports and the occasional cartoon.

  8. delacrat says:

    FrightenedBlueHen,

Whatever “informs” your understanding of planet earth has you very frightened of the usual TV boogie men; immigrants, Russia, Iran, ISIS …..etc, etc ad infinitum. Frightened people are easily manipulated. Don’t be frightened and manipulated. Turn off your “news” and “information”. The less you “know”, the less you are frightened and manipulated.

  9. Fish Bites says:

That cartoon is pretty funny. Obama singing ‘Amazing Grace’ was a disgusting spectacle.

Got something to say? Go for it!
