Letter From Lyndon Yearick

vote

I’m a Republican candidate for the 34th District House of Representatives’ office. I’m completing a September 9th primary election against our current legislator, Don Blakey. He’s a good man and I’d like to thank him for his service however it’s time for a change. The 34th District and the state need strong leaders with the solutions, energy, and conviction to make an impact. I’m the most qualified individual to serve because of my professional experience, education, and community involvement. I have twenty years of business experience in the housing, energy, banking, health care, and education industries. I’ve been an active member of the community with my church, non-profit boards, and coaching youth sports. I was raised on a dairy farm and understand the rewards and challenges of agriculture, the leading industry in the state. I know the issues in the state, have the solutions to offer, and will present a stronger voice to challenge the direction the state is heading.

We cannot continue the pace of how we spend money and the results that the spending produces. We need leaders who can work to install fiscal discipline, accountability, and offer solutions that will grow our economy. We need to reform how the state finances public education and provide more spending flexibility at the school level. We cannot continue the spending levels with our Medicaid system. Delawareans will help their fellow citizens however they want leaders that will work to eliminate the waste and abuse in the system. We need leaders who can present solutions to the challenges in our healthcare system, mental health treatment, and drug abuse in Delaware.

I’ve knocked on hundreds of doors in the 34th District, shared my reasons for running, and most importantly, listened to the individuals’ questions, comments, and concerns. People are busy working, raising families, volunteering their time, etc. They want responsible, engaged, and committed individuals to represent them. They want a return to commonsense, fiscal responsibility, and a focus on what’s important. They deserve elected officials that have walked a mile in their shoes, will work hard, and honor the privilege that comes from public service.

I look forward to meeting even more families in the 34th, sharing my message, and listening to you. Republicans in the 34th District, please add “Primary Election – Vote for Lyndon” to your calendars on September 9th. I look forward to winning the primary, the general election in November, and earning the privilege to serve as your legislator.

Thank you,

Lyndon Yearick

Republican Candidate

34th District House of Representatives

    You’re a prick. Go away.

  2. Will McVay says:

    Off to an auspicious start…

  3. Ricky Bobby says:

I am not sure how Yearick can make a comeback on this site when the first post out of the box is as harsh as it is. Maybe Sterling will come back to explain his comment. If not, I’d say it was just a cowardly drive by shooting. Maybe someone will give a more efficient comment. I do not know Yearick but he’s definitely got some chutzpah and cohunes to run a primary against a four-term incumbent. I say more power to him. Anybody that feels led to run – should run! The guy puts his church out there as the first thing he is involved in so there is that for those of who feel that’s important. Look for Frank to make a big deal about Yearick’s being the Chairman of the 34th and then deciding to run against the incumbent Rep in the 34th. Right Frank? Sic ‘em Frank, Sic ‘em!

  4. Frank Knotts says:

Ah! Ricky B shows once again he has no reading skills. Ricky, you may not know this, this is not my blog, I am simply a blogger here. And if you read the bi-line of the post, you will see that this post is not one of my post. This was a letter submitted by Mr. Yearick, to Delaware Right, written by him and published elsewhere as an announcement. We here at Delaware Right believe in moving the conversation forward and are open to many view points, even yours.

  5. Pat Fish says:

    I think it’s a very nice letter.

(Edited. Ms. Fish, I have removed the last part of your comment. This is not a bulletin board for you to post on, in order to solicit. Please keep your postings in comment form. Otherwise they will be considered spam and dealt with as such. Thank you. Frank Knotts)

  6. Ricky Bobby says:

    Frank,
I wrote, “Maybe someone will give a more efficient comment.”
Your comment failed horribly. You only mentioned the candidate’s name once. No view points – nothing. Of course I realize Yearling wrote it. No where in my comment do I write otherwise. I was only baiting you with my last two sentences and you bit – as usual. You’re the one with no reading skills. I know this is Cragg and Grossman’s blog but you seem to be the only one willing to put their name on a by-line. I agree, you are simply a blogger, I will give you that. How am I supposed to know who posted the article if the originator will not write an introduction or explanation about how it got posted? I gave my viewpoint on the candidate now where is yours?
As usual you fail – miserably.

  7. Frank Knotts says:

Ricky B, if you look just below the title of the post, you will see the word, “BY”, which is followed either by my name or maybe Delaware Right. If I write a post I put my name. However, Delaware Right also allows people to send in announcements and other PSA type post for publication. These are under the Delaware Right bi-line since they may or may not reflect the views of any one person. Delaware Right attempt to give voice not only to our friends, but also our opposition in some cases.
As for getting me to bite, well you have again proven your lack of real time information. Mr. Yearick resigned his position on the 34th RD Committee before sending out this letter.
So tell me, would you like fries with those words you are now eating?

    Frank,
You wrote, “Ricky B, if you look just below the title of the post, you will see the word, “BY”, which is followed either by my name or maybe Delaware Right. If I write a post I put my name.
Well, Duh. Like I didn’t already know that?
You wrote, “However, Delaware Right also allows people to send in announcements and other PSA type post for publication. One big hurrah for Delaware Right!
You wrote, “Mr. Yearick resigned his position on the 34th RD Committee before sending out this letter.”
What difference does that make? He was the chair and rather than help his incumbent get re-elected (as is usual) he chose to run a primary against him. If that is not a reason to resign as chair, then what is? It was either resign or be tossed out for mutiny. What do you think “Donald Sterling” is so pissed off about? So now you tell me, would you like fries with those words you are now eating?

  9. Frank Knotts says:

Ricky B, if you keep making my points for me, there will be no need for me to respond.
The problem is not that a chair decided to primary an incumbent, at least not for me, it is that they use the position to further their campaign instead.
Mr. Yearick did the honorable thing. I have no problem with primaries in general. Hope those fries aren’t too salty!

  10. Ricky Bobby says:

    Crank,
You wrote. “The problem is not that a chair decided to primary an incumbent, at least not for me…”
I agree, everything is fair in love, war, blogs and politics. If the two had differences then take it to a vote. I wonder if the differences were discussed before the filing occurred or was Blakey pearl harbored?

You wrote. “…it is that they use the position to further their campaign instead.”
And that is the point, Yearick gained the position and used it to put himself in a position to run a primary, which is fine because it is all fair. That he resigned does not remove the contacts and prestige he received while in the position. It would not surprise me if half of his ED’s were now on his campaign staff but hey it is all fair.
You wrote. “Mr. Yearick did the honorable thing.”
I wonder if Blakey feels the same way about it. But hey it is all fair, right? No big deal if the R’s lose another seat in Dover really.

  11. Bill Rappa says:

Sounds great. We need another useless republican primary. I guess the clown college is out for the summer and needs something to do so Sher, Cher, Cheryl…..whatever the name is today, can join with Lyndon and a few others to do what they can to ruin gop chances. I mean after all, we are a safe red state right?

  12. Ricky Bobby says:

    Rappa,
Looks like we agree. I am just waiting for Frank “I have no problem with primaries in general” Knotts to give us some more of his wisdumb. Hell, let’s just primary each other into oblivion. I see Peterman has a primary too. What the hell did he do or not do? Wish we could primary bloggers off the internet. Now that would be cool.
    Ricky Bobby is WINNING!

C.mon Frank, your not gonna let me have the last word here are you?

  15. Dennis Fish says:

I have known Lyndon Yearick for over 30 years since we met as freshmen at Bloomsburg University in 1992. We reconnected several years ago here in Wilmington, and Lyndon is the same person now as he was then – a completely stand up person whose consistency in wanting to do the right thing in any situation has always been his greatest virtue.

I do not live in the 34th district, nor am I a registered Republican (I am a vehement Independent who balances his vote for candidates from both parties). I am, however, a Delawarean, and I cannot think of a better person than Lyndon Yearick to be one of my State leaders.

Got something to say? Go for it!
