President Obama wants you to believe he is the Sergeant Schultz of unlawfully targeted IRS harassments: “I know nussink! I see nussink! I didn’t even leave ze fundraiser zees mornink!

President Roosevelt used the IRS to intimidate and exact revenge on political enemies. Richard Nixon, JFK and Clinton co-opted the agency into a partisan sledgehammer designed to ruin lives and crush honest political opposition.

John Andrew’s 2002 book, “The Power to Destroy,” unearths these dank political corpses, destroying whatever naive notions you may have of those storybook figures.

What’s most heinous is that a President would use the IRS to intimidate and harass ordinary Americans who believe a smaller, more effective government is best for their country and legally enjoy their constitutional right to assembly, sharing knowledge and education with fellow citizens.

Apparently, that’s a serious threat to Mr. Obama.

The idea that a small group of rogue Midwestern agents decided to ruin their careers by illegally targeting nonprofit organizations whose names include the words “Tea Party” or “Patriot” and had a mission of constitutional education is absurd. It’s even more absurd when you know the history of former presidents who have misused the IRS combined with the history of President Obama.

Here are some examples of the President’s previous duplicitous behavior:

Mr. Obama has often regaled supporters with an emotional delivery of his “Thanks for your vote; I wish I could close Guantanamo” monologue.

Constitutional lawyers have written gigabytes on how Obama can close Guantanamo.

The ways to do it include applying the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012, giving the president power to wage war against al-Qaeda and its affiliates. The NDAA authorizes the president to detain enemy combatants and forbids him from transferring Guantanamo detainees to American soil.

The NDAA does not ban the President from releasing detainees. Lawyers have written that section 1028 authorizes him to release them to foreign countries that will accept them. That’s all he has to do. It may not be a very bright thing to do, but he can do it.

The President also has the power to end the hostilities with al-Qaeda by declaring our War on Terror with al-Qaeda is over. Ended. Done.

Such a declaration would result in the release of all the Guantanamo prisoners.

Do you think he really believes in the green energy schemes and was tricked by really smart campaign bundlers, or, rather, that he knew all along from government accountants and analysts that these companies were going bankrupt and he just wanted their millions of campaign dollars?

Report after report shows the Obama administration knew these companies were going bankrupt and that some of their technologies would not work. Still, the millions of dollars in bundled campaign contributions from their executives and commissioned venture capital firms flowed into Democratic bank accounts.

Billions of taxpayer dollars then flowed into the green scheme accounts of companies like bankrupt Solyndra, Abound Solar, SpectraWatt and Evergreen Solar.

He has used his executive power to obstruct the investigation into ATF gun-running to Mexican drug lords and is blocking the testimony of a Benghazi whistleblower.

His marketing group, Organizing for America, is engaged in a smear campaign of another Benghazi whistleblower, veteran diplomat Gregory Hicks.

President Obama and Eric Holder have also been caught spying on Associated Press reporters, stealing records of outgoing calls for both the work and personal phone numbers of individual reporters, for general AP office numbers in New York, Washington and Hartford, Conn., and for the main number for the AP in the House of Representatives press gallery.

If you can ignore these behaviors and many more, then perhaps the idea that our President was unaware of his IRS illegally intimidating and harassing innocent fellow Americans is possible.

Perhaps you can also believe he wasn’t behind this illegal harassment and intimidation of innocent fellow Americans that just happened to occur during the last Presidential election cycle.

Perhaps.

I would kindly disagree… Actually using Rick’s timeline, I would have to say that Obama is Col. Hogan, and Rick Jensen is Col. Klink.

    I seee nothinggggg….

In serious response, I would ask how it is possible to say we are no longer in conflict with Al Qaeda while they are attacking us and killing US citizens. Obviously letting these prisoners go, would create more dead Americans… Wouldn’t you do the same to all Arabs if you were imprisoned in orange garb ( in honor of Boehner’s skin tone) for 12 years over nothing? It would finally give you a chance to use your prize shotgun…

Second, as with any business, its a fine line whether a company goes bankrupt or makes a turnaround. You neglect to mention Tesla which sold more cars this past quarter than Chevy did of Volts. What if both automakers had been shut down at the same time, since both were failing at the same time rather spectacularly?

Third… there IS something weird about Gregory Hicks, who said one thing before elections and something totally different now… Did his bank call his loan and only if the testified falsely would the let him keep making payments? That is pure speculation, but when there is something weird , speculation is allowed to be put on the table.. and OFA deserves the opportunity to point it out… The fact you yourself harp on “cargo pants” on your show, points out that you yourself have very little faith in his testimony, especially since the truth outed then, completely exposed all Republican talking points as being pretty much lies, and that top Republicans knew it for a long time that every one of their accusations was a mis-truth, but spoken for political points anyway.

I’m sorry this did not get added above. If you wish to make political points, and this is a political blog so that is certainly what one expects, there are many areas where you can actually do so.. Making up scandals and fanning the flames of false injustice, will only come back to bite you, as it becomes apparent you are simply ganging up on an innocent person and flailing your fists…

Why not attack Obama and Delaware’s Governor Markell and Rodel for the failure of RTTT and the tragedy it is causing among schools and most particularly students, which is far worse then No Child Left Behind by a factor of 10.

if you run from real issues, and spout only fake ones, the other party which is running on real issues will always win… The Real Party always wins…

There is nothing more real than education.

So, because it was wrong for Bush to capture them on the battlefield and detain them…it’s not only OK for Obama to have continued their detention “over nothing” (forget that almost every single detainee who was released has returned to the Al Qaeda ranks to wage more Jihad)…it’s encouraged?! Then you justify it with “Wouldn’t you do the same thing?” Does that then make it OK or justifiable for every wrongly convicted criminal to go on a killing spree upon their release from prison?

This is a whopper of a defense as well. Certainly a company can pull itself back from the brink (like Staples did thanks to Romney and Bain Capital) and I’m sure not every loan made to a green energy company looked bad on paper (there had to be at least ONE that didn’t scream IMPLOSION IMMINENT!) but Solyndra, A123 Systems and Fisker were all questionable at best from the beginning. Plus, there’s a difference between a rich entrepreneur or a group of private investors rolling the dice and betting on black with a start-up and the Federal Government coercing tax dollars from unwilling citizens to pay for risky ventures. The biggest difference between Chevy and Ford (the better comparison) is that Ford developed flex fuel and electric vehicles and didn’t take bailout money to do it. The better comparison (that you deftly avoided) to Tesla is Fisker. Tesla raised more private capital and thus was a far better manager of its resources. Still far from profitable (comparing sales to the dismal Volt #’s is silly), Tesla at least risks more of their own capital than government coerced tax dollars. With that said, what if both had been shut down? Well then the market would have found two other automakers to take their place. That’s what markets do.

Hicks is a Democrat who voted for Hillary in the Primary and Obama twice in the General Election. Now that he’s come out and called foul on serious problems within the administration, he’s being attacked. Expected…if a little arrogant. Bottom line, this guy LIKES Hillary and Obama but he didn’t like seeing men and women left hanging out to dry. That he’s willing to speak up and tell the truth is not a negative. I wonder if you called foul on the whistle blowers in Iran-Contra or Watergate…nah, those were Republicans right? So, the embassy is overrun in September but the guy, a life long Dem, a Hillary and Obama supporter, decides NOT to influence the election with his testimony and instead waits until the election is over and his testimony won’t be seen as some sort of October surprise election stunt…he gets creamed by you guys. What it is it with the truth being on display that bothers you folks so much? Benghazi, Fast and Furious, IRS Scandal, AP phone tapping…You guys cheered on Geraldo Rivera (Jerry Rivers) when he was giving away troop positions in Iraq but learning the truth about what’s going on within this Administration isn’t allowed?

Call it a hunch but I don’t think you’ll have to wait long to see something along these lines. Probably less “attack” than facts and analysis but surely something you will appreciate.
