Rumor Has It

The rumor is, and it has also been mentioned in the media at noon, that the current Secretary of DNREC, Collin O’Mara will be holding a conference call within DNREC today at 1:30 p.m. to announce his departure.

Of course any speculation at this time is premature, however the most likely reason for him leaving would be that he has been offered some cushy environmental position in D.C.

This is likely merely the first of this type of departure from the Markell administration. Setting up his people with jobs while he still has influence left in his last term.

I will update this story as more information becomes available.

It is now being reported that Mr. O’Mara will be heading over to the National Wildlife Federation. Well good for him. Maybe Governor Markell can find a job for Alan Levin working for the “National Give Money To Friends Federation”.

Dear Lord we have been delivered!! We will no longer be subjected to a ” California” perspective as it applies to DE. I say “Good riddance”. This will certainly put a new smell and feel on the impending well regulation changes. These changes will impact the state of DE residents for years to come, in their wallets. Citizens beware.

WP, I understand your hopefulness, but do you think the Governor will just abandon his environmental goals? No sorry to say whoever follows is more than likely going to carry on the ” California” perspective.

  4. waterpirate says:

I certainly hope not. With the Gov. on the way out, his gas tax and water tax going up in flames, as well as his walking and bike trails initiative that were going to force imenent domain property rights issues. I would hope that even our own Delaware D’s have had enough of the ” California perspective.”

Got something to say? Go for it!
