Sam Chick 31st District

voteI highly recommend Sam Chick for 31st District state representative.Sam is a sterling example of a citizen soldier who returned home to continue service to his community. He comes from a family and background that values service and hard work.

After growing up in Kent County, Sam volunteered for the U.S. Army and served four years in the storied 101st Airborne Division as an infantryman.

His service included nearly 14 months deployed south of Baghdad during Operation Iraqi Freedom. It was tough duty, long days in harsh conditions, but his dedication and leadership abilities were quickly realized, resulting in his promotion to sergeant with only two years’ time in service, a full year earlier than typically considered by the U.S. Army.

During his final 20 months in the Army, Sam was one of a handful of soldiers accepted into the 101st Airborne Parachute Team, skydiving in public events across the nation to promote Army service and excellence. He continues skydiving in a civilian capacity today, serving as assistant coach to the U.S. Naval Academy Parachute Team in Annapolis and jumping into public events such as Dover’s own NASCAR races.

After an honorable discharge in 2010, Sam returned to Delaware and settled in Dover with his wife, Nicole. He re- entered the family business, Chick’s Saddlery, in Harrington, and now serves as company vice president.

Mr. Chick is active in our community and can often be found volunteering and helping others out. He also continues to serve his fellow veterans as an officer in the Delaware Veterans Coalition, addressing issues that affect all generations of Delaware’s veterans.

Please consider putting this outstanding veteran, small-business owner and community leader to work for us by voting for Sam Chick on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Delaware can use a leader with his commitment to integrity, accountability and selfless service.
