Delaware Primaries September 13TH VOTE! Or Shut Up

delaware flag    September the 13th is the Delaware Primary day. I challenge all registered voters to come out and make your voice heard.  This is where I am supposed to say, I don’t care who you vote for, as long as you participate. And while I do want people to participate, I would hope they have taken the time to self inform themselves, and have not fallen prey to media hype. Nor to party bias.

Let us hope, there is still hope, that voters, can find it in their hearts and minds to seek out the best person for the job. Either through a proven record, or by looking at the experience of the candidates, and ask, are they suited to be a servant of the people?

Of course I have my chosen candidates, and anyone who follows this site knows who they are.

I will leave this as an open thread, so that the guest to this site, may put forth their views and opinions, and predictions if they so wish. I do ask since this is a state primary, please leave the Trump/ Clinton comments for after the primary, there will be plenty of time for those later. Let us focus our attention, for now, on the local and state races. For these are the races which most closely effect our lives, and in which we may have the most affect upon.

As in the past, I will be standing the polls tomorrow at the Bridgeville Fire House, I welcome any and all to stop by and talk with me, and others in the spirit of our Republic. Which is the free and peaceful exchange of power. God Bless America.

  ONE MAN, ONE VOTE!

Predictions for my District: CC District#2: Wilson 48% Hudson- Briggs 52%.. A few weeks ago I thought Wilson would likely win 55%-45% but his no show in Bridgeville hurt him. It’s still going to be a close race and could very well go the other way with the same percentage…. 35th District : Wilson 75%-Mitchell 25%….. Bob seems like a nice guy but I don’t see Dave getting beat. Governor: Bonini 45% Lafferty 55%. I really hope Colin wins but his absence is going to hurt him. Insurance Commissioner: Cragg 65%-Parish 35%. Jeff is the only one with actual insurance experience

  2. Rick says:

Wilson should win, but a 75-25 margin is unlikely. Bonini will beat Lafferty.

I am not going to bother to vote today. I have no interest in any of the races. Either Bonini or Lafferty will lose the general, I couldn’t care less who the Insurance Commissioner is, and I don’t live in the 35th.

  3. Frank Knotts says:

Rick, not voting makes you the worst kind of hypocrite .

  4. Mitch Crane says:

My opinion of people who opine on everything but don”t vote is best described by an unnamed union leader who opposed me when I ran for Insurance Commissioner and support Karen Stewart. He told everyone he could that he didn’t agree with my “lifestyle”. I thought that was in the past as this year’s campaign rolled out. Two weeks ago I heard from a mutual friend that this man was spouting at a meeting about not supporting Trinidad Navarro because I supported Trini and “I told Mitch Crane to his face that I do not agree with his lifestyle”. I was livid because the man does not speak to me and certainly has never said anything to my face about my so-called lifestyle ( what is that ,anyway? I get up at 5:30. Work all day. Watch TV from 8-10 if I am home and go to sleep at 10).

I was so livid at still being attacked after 4 years that I decided to write this man a letter. I needed his address and pulled up his name in the Party database. I looked at his voting history. In the 2012 Primary where I ran against Stewart? He did not even vote! I laughed so hard that a man who hates me didn’t even bother to vote. I did not write the letter. His opinion of me does not matter because a person with strong opinions but who does not vote is not worth the ink.

  5. mouse says:

The insurance commissioner has more direct impact in your life than most of the other offices where the republicans run on tribal and sexual issues

  6. Mitch Crane says:

Mouse-agreed. I emailed the News Journal this morning and asked why their election day story listed every office and every candidate running in today’s Primary-with the exception of the two Republicans and two Democrats running for Insurance Commissioner-the most powerful office, after Governor, in this state. The race between Trinidad Navarro and Karen Stewart, on the Democrat side, is the only contest that received no story this entire year.

  7. kavips says:

The story with the insurance commissioner, is that the big money is behind Stewart… That is all you need to know in order to place your vote correctly….

  8. Frank Knotts says:

Mitch, she has a record, I’m sure she and her supporters would rather there be no story.

  9. Rick says:

Rick, not voting makes you the worst kind of hypocrite .

Not really. Voting for people and offices I couldn’t care less about would make me a hypocrite.

  10. waterpirate says:

I sincerely hope that any sane candidate unseats KWS. Party affiliation at this point is not important. I cast my vote today in the primary and hope for change and progress.

  11. Fish Bites says:

Down goes Mitchell. I guess the voters in that district are as dumb as Frank.

  12. Frank Knotts says:

Fishbites, Bob Mitchell was told many times by many people, he was in the wrong race for the wrong reasons, and the voters of the 35th saw that.

  13. delacrat says:

“I am not going to bother to vote today. I have no interest in any of the races.” – rick

Good idea. In fact, if you have no interest is races that don’t center on blacks or muslims, you should not be voting at all.

  14. Rick says:

Socialist sycophants like you would vote for Stalin himself. Pathetic.

It’s pitiful that Socialist-Democrtas denigrate the Founders and worship at the alter of Karl Marx. Steal from the productive to buy the votes of the lazy and incompetent who live to be wards of the state.

Our government is corrupt, our “programs” are near-bankrupt, and the interest on out national debt will be the largest expenditure within the budget in the near future. But to the simple-minded “liberal,” this pseudo-egalitarianism is “good,” even though the goal of the elites is to make our society as vibrant as an ant colony.

In the 30’s, the American left held the Soviet Union as an example of a progressive utopia, as Stalin was murdering, tourturing and starving millions. Stalin referred to them as “useful idiots.”

    Stalin:

“Ideas are more powerful than guns. We don’t allow our enemies to possess guns. Why would we allow them to possess ideas?”

Seems like today’s Socialist-Democrats and their apparatchiks in academia and the media have studied Stalin well. Our Founders- Washington, Jefferson, Henry and so on- were bigoted, racist slaveholders while tyrannical communist murderers like Stalin and Castro provide a political blueprint for America’s future.

Some people- like citizen delacrat- adapt to the nose ring and actually enjoy being led-around like a prize steer. They willingly submit to a ruling elite.

Others don’t. And the two philosophies are incompatible within the borders of a nation.

  15. Fish Bites says:

“And the two philosophies are incompatible within the borders of a nation.”

What are you going to do about it, Rick?

Too lazy to vote, and too cowardly to shoot.

  16. Jeff Todd says:

Today’s comments from the loser of the primary for governor

Lacey Lafferty – “Without the police you and rest of the public would be nothing. Think about it the next time you need a cop.”

Lacey Lafferty – “You still don’t get it. Without the police there would be civil unrest and anarchy. Police are there for the public to protect and serve their needs and save lives.
You better think about that the next time you have a problem and call 911.
Without people who have a love for the job, the public would be nothing. Criminal behavior would over run society and where would you be. No where! ”

Failed state trooper, failed republican candidate for governor, the results of the primary more than show who is nothing in the eyes of the public.

  17. Fish Bites says:

Wait, so Bonini has proposed getting rid of the police?

Does she think there were organized police forces from the founding of this country or something?

  18. Jeff Todd says:

No her comments were in response to a man who said he could not vote for her, due to her refusal to consider or discuss legalizing marijuana.

  19. Fish Bites says:

What a weird response. I guess if we made broccoli illegal then the police would have even more things to do.

  20. One Adam 12, One Adam 12…

Let me call Officer, eh, I mean Representative Smyk and ask him about the Broccoli and Asparagas possession laws, unless he didn’t look in the ‘secret compartment’ on Funk & Wagners front porch under the mayonaise jar.

One Adam 12, One Adam 12…

  21. Jeff Todd says:

Her contemptuous arrogance concerning others is beyond belief. Her slogan “We Own It” should have been “My Way or the Highway”.

  22. mouse says:

    End broccoli abuse now!

  23. mouse says:

One would think some of these old white angry republican men could update their rhetoric from 1964

  24. Rick says:

“And the two philosophies are incompatible within the borders of a nation.”

What are you going to do about it, Rick?

Too lazy to vote, and too cowardly to shoot.

I write about it. And if secession occurs in my lifetime, I’ll participate. I certainly won’t become a rogue sniper or suicide bomber.

Too lazy to vote? Really? I had no interest in who the GOP nominee for Insurabce Commissioner is to be.

Cowardly? I’ll be at Jimmy’s Grill Friday. I’m easy to find. Get in my face, and I’ll be happy to rearrange yours.

  25. Henry says:

Jeff Todd I don’t get your point. Candidates are tax paying citizens who have a voice and their voice should be supporting the police. In a very difficult climate across the country in the past few years for our boys in blue who up hold the law it’s just the same job as the military that protect our nation.
I would guess you have been arrested and charged with a crime or crimes in your life time that brings on your psychological disrepute for police and military personnel.
You should be ashamed of your verbal position on such a topic where the defenders of our streets and nation are to be honored and awarded.
Which by the way from what I heard from the Lafferty campaign that she had a distinguished and awarded career as a police officer.
You need mental help for your stance against our brave police and military personnel.
But then again what do expect out of a criminal in finding.

We all should be supporting the police and military who protect us from those who would do us harm. Negative comments about police and military from those in this forum exhibit their true nature of defiance and a non conformist.

Shame on you. Just shows the low class on this blog site.

  26. Jeff Todd says:

I have nothing but the utmost respect for law enforcement and our military, present serving and veterans. I have complete disdain for any former cop who thinks they are better than any citizen, or they are somehow above the law themselves. They job they freely choose is to SERVE and protect. They SERVE we the people of society.
Concerning Lafferty’s career she was a state police officer for 12 years, hardly what I would consider worthy of claiming to be a retired Delaware State Trooper. She received one award from then Governor Ruth Ann MInner in that time. There are Delaware State Police who are still wearing the uniform, protecting and serving who suffer from hearing loss, some worse than Lafferty claims she has. So what’s the real reason she left the DSP? Why didn’t the FOP, DSTA, or CSPOA endorse her run for Governor ?
Lafferty has repeatedly criticized the Speaker of the House for comments just like the ones she made. I’m more than capable of protecting myself should the need arise, I’m sure many other citizens including veterans share my same views.

  27. Henry says:

It goes to show Jeff Todd you can’t fix stupid.

Not only are you wrong about everything you state but it shows the lack of knowledge and respect for those who serve their communities and nation. Of course such verbiage comes from a non compliant with disdain for all who fight our daily battles for us, such as yourself and runs in with the law.

I just had to research your statements. After all they are just your opinion and statements. After reading up on this subject, Lafferty was a decorated police officer held at the highest regard. She was a 13 year veteran not 12 as you state. Upon a routine annual physical it was discovered that she had a serious hearing impairment which was not correctable and was duty related. Administration decided disability benefit retirement as if she stayed until (20 yrs.) retirement for out standing service. Common knowledge among her peers.
Police agencies took the position not to endorse any candidates before the primary which anybody with half a brain can know that. People like you shouldn’t be able to breed resulting in inferior off spring that Society has to keep.
I hope you can protect yourself because police officers in this state should be real slow in their response to any of your situations after you bashed one of their own who puts their lives on the line everyday they leave their houses.

You are truly a disgusting individual and parasite of our society.

  28. Jeff Todd says:

Research and reading up on Lafferty there’s a joke. Non compliant there’s another joke. The only information out there is what the narcissist has put out there herself. The jokes on you moron. Depending what version of her career you find or listen to during interviews she was a Delaware State Police officer either 12-13 years. I will state again I have the utmost respect for law enforcement and our military personnel. I have no respect for any law enforcement officer who tarnishes the badge, through their actions or words. You should talk to her peers as you call them, like Pete Schwartzkopf and a few others. She has no respect for hom and several other of her peers considering what she has stated publicly in print and on the radio about them. Society doesn’t keep my off spring and your comment about breeding inferior off spring reeks of Nazism. I bet you feel the same way about children with special needs too. You’re a real special kind of stupid ! I must say I’m not surprised though considering your vitriolic diatribe so far in this discussion. Lafferty is deaf in one ear big deal. There are a number of retired road troopers who put in 20 years with the same duty related impairment. There are a number of current road troopers who have the same impairment, they are still on the force. If Lafferty was such a valuable asset and outstanding as you claim, the Delaware State Police would have found a position to accommodate her impairment. Common knowledge among her peers is the DSP used her hearing impairment to get rid of her. Lafferty didn’t receive any endorsements at all, and it was known among her peers that the DSTA, and FOP had no intention of ever endorsing her. Even her own party didn’t endorse her at the convention they endorsed Colin Bonini.

  29. Henry says:

Biased opinions are just that from a computer coward hiding behind a key board. Your statements bare no truths however Lafferty has medals, credentials, certificates of achievements, award plaques, photographs and plenty of her peers that speech for her.
You computer coward have zilch, nada, nothing, zero and no credibility other than a series of ramblings from a biased stone worm. Obviously you are, who else would put such a diatribe (you like to use that word) on a topic that generalizes without specifics.
Furthermore your political ignorance shines through like new minted penny.
Every organization particularly state & federal has different levels of medical deficiencies that upon administrative review according to the job function requirements it’s up to the administrative panel to decide not the personnel.
So again you have no clue what your talking about nor do you know about after primary endorsements. Keep on talking you continue to show your level of mental instability and verbal disfunction of the facts.
Don’t they have psychological unit in Milford hospital your family can admit you in? But then again who would even care.

Police officers and military personnel are one of the same. Police keep our streets at home safe and secure. Military personnel keep our nation safe and secure home and abroad. Military personnel after departure from their tour of duty often enroll in our municipal, state and federal police agencies.

Your are deployable attacking a retired police officer for sticking up for police and the outstanding work they do protecting our neighborhoods is like attacking a military officer or veteran for sticking up for Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines for the outstanding work that they do protecting our country.

Slither back under your rock criminalbc.
